Third Time's a Charm!

On February 17th, Joshua turned 3 years old! Being the mommy, I had a fun train party planned for the night of his birthday with lots of food to eat and trains to play with. Well, the night before Joshua's birthday, William got sick and we postponed the party to the weekend. Since we didn't have the party on his birthday, I made him some brownies and we sang "Happy Birthday" to him and let him blow out a candle. Some special friends dropped by and shared in our small celebration. I was so disappointed that he didn't get to have his party that night, but Joshua wasn't! In his mind, he did have a party with a couple friends and some brownies. That night when I was putting him to bed he said, "Thank you for my birthday Mommy!" Wow, that really put things in perspective. So, when the 2nd party came around, Joshua got sick and we had to cancel again! Finally, a few days later Joshua had his "real" train party and we celebrated his 3rd birthday with several of his little friends. I have to admit that I realized this was more for me than for him! He would have been satisfied with his brownie and candle on his birthday! Here are a few pictures from his birthday party. Thanks to those who came to help us celebrate!

Look at this adorable train cake that my friend Ashley made! Thank you Ashley!

First, I love your layout. I usually look at your blog on google reader so I miss the actual layout. I like it. Second, what a sweet story about Joshua. Third, I'm thinking about doing a train party for Zeke's 3rd birthday. What fun! Oh, and I think the bow is cute!

Joshua is such a sweet boy!! We're glad he had a fun birthday! Are the t-shirts their wearing at the party the ones we got in Nashville at Thomas the Train?
